Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Community Engagement Awards event to be held on Thursday April 24, 2014, 6:30pm.

The Community Engagement Awards (CEA) is an initiative to recognize the contributions of community members who work towards the betterment of the community.

Their actions are motivated by the commitment to grass-roots movements that fuel Neighbourhood Centres.

Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre (BBNC) is an organization in South West Scarborough essentially of the community for the community.

Thus, one way to begin the celebration of these partners in building and strengthening our communities is to recognize Scarborough residents who contribute their time, energy and, frankly, their love of this corner of the city.

Three categories of awards

Awards will be presented in three categories – Adult, Youth and Small Business/Community Organization.

The Youth category is the only one with a financial award assigned. The hope of BBNC is to ultimately build the Youth award into a scholarship award for a youth intending to pursue Community Engagement or Community Development in post-secondary education.  Donations are being accepted towards this award.

The event itself will include passed hors d’oeuvres, a “mocktail” bar, entertainment, photo booth, silent auction and awards presentations and so much more.

Anyone interested in contributing to this event should contact the CEA Planning Committee at nominations@bbnc.ca or call 416 396-7579. Tickets can be purchased at the BBNC reception desk or online at by clicking here.
