Sirens and helicopters have been heard pretty much non-stop for the last 45 minutes in Birch Cliff.
If you’re wondering what’s going on, there’s a three alarm fire on Byng Avenue, off Danforth Avenue just west of Warden.
It has apparently spread to the neighbouring houses.
Today in History: March 29, 1910. A 200-acre brushfire came close to razing Birch Cliff, as reported by the Toronto Evening Telegram 111 years ago today.
A two-alarm fire on Kalmar Ave. drew a massive emergency response Monday afternoon, with 16 fire vehicles, two ambulances and three police cars responding to the scene.
