Festivities kick off on Saturday with Santa photos at the Kingston Social and there are fun things to do all month long. The list also includes services at all the local churches.
Photos with Santa Claus
Pictures with Santa in Birch Cliff on Sat. Dec. 5, 11am – 1pm at The Kingston Social, 1427 Kingston Rd., just steps west of Warden. There’s also face painting, a colouring station, hot chocolate & cookies, and even loot bags, while supplies last. A lovely new FREE initiative courtesy of realtor Frank Crisafi.
Councillor Crawford’s annual tree lighting ceremony at Variety Village
Christmas carols, hot chocolate, a visit from Santa and the tree lighting outside Variety Village. Sun.Dec. 6, 6pm – 7pm, Variety Village, 3701 Danforth Ave. Performances by Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School Choir, H.A. Halbert Public School Choir and St. Agatha Catholic School Band. Councillor Gary Crawford will be joined by Variety Village’s new CEO Karen Stinz.

Birch Cliff Public School Annual Christmas Bazaar
Wed. Dec. 9, 11:30am – 7pm in the gym at Birch Cliff Public School, 1650 Kingston Rd. Vendors, bake sale, hot food, raffle items and much more.

Holiday Artisan Market
The Kingston Social is hosting a holiday artisan market from Wed. Dec 9 to Wed. Dec 23 from 11am to 6pm. You can purchase small art pieces, candles, soap, ornaments, aprons, kids stuff, gift baskets, jewelry, and more.
“Eat, Drink and Be Merry!” at Birchcliff Bluffs United Church
A festive evening of songs, stories and Christmas desserts on Sat. Dec. 12, 7:30pm. The event is the annual fundraiser in support of the Churches By the Bluffs Community Services Food Bank, located at the church. Admission is $10 per adult, $2 per child plus a non-perishable food item. Christmas desserts, mulled cider, and other refreshments will follow the presentation.
18th annual World’s Greatest Christmas Party at Variety Village
This fundraiser for Variety Village features games, food, photos with Santa, loot bags, crafts, inflatables, and a shopper’s bazaar. Sun. Dec. 13, 11am – 2pm, Variety Village, 3701 Danforth Ave. Tickets are $8.

Birchmount Residence Tree Lighting
Scarborough Baptist Church hosts the Birchmount Residence Christmas Party and Tree Lighting. Wed. Dec. 16, 7:00 pm, 1673 Kingston Rd. Christmas carols led by the Awana Clubbers. Bundle up, this is an outdoor event.

Candlelight Christmas Eve Celebration Readings, selected Scripture portions, testimonies and special musical numbers.
Birchcliff Bluffs United Church, Thurs. Dec. 24 Family Service and Tree Lighting, 33 East Rd.
Join us as we light our community tree with blue lights for those we mourn and white lights to honour family and friends. A prayerful service with communion to re-focus on the true meaning of Christmas. Everyone welcome.
