Everybody loves a parade!

It’s not every day that a parade marches through the neighbourhood and it certainly never happens unexpectedly.

But that’s exactly what went on today, much to the delight of residents who live near Hollis Avenue, Clonmore Drive and Gerrard Street.

People were first alerted by the sound of music, getting louder and louder.

Then, lo and behold, the Malvern Collegiate marching band showed up followed by hundreds of students dressed in red and black.

Turns out today was “Red and Black Day” – a celebration of Malvern school spirit.

The students were on their way to Birchmount Stadium to watch a football game against North Toronto.

So, to the students of Malvern Collegiate…thanks for making everyone’s day a little brighter!

And many thanks to student Christian Do who shot the photographs below.
