Local weekend fun for everyone

The streets of Birch Cliff will come alive on Saturday with a host of community events that will get families, friends and neighbours out enjoying the nice weather and celebrating our wonderful neighbourhood.

We know that Birch Cliff is full of community spirit but walkability is something we’re continually striving to improve.

Tomorrow is the day to step out in the sunshine, take in several fun events and maybe support some of our merchants on Kingston Rd. while we’re at it.

Birch Cliff Public School Fun Fair

The annual Birch Cliff Public School Fun Fair is on tomorrow from 11am – 3pm in the school playground at Kingston Rd. and Birchcliff Ave.

Not only is it a lot of fun for families but it serves as an important fundraising for the school.

Activities include a bouncy castle, face-painting, henna tattoos, indoor rock climbing, silly shower, and PRO martial arts board breaking.

If you’re hungry there’s a barbecue, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones.

While you’re there, consider bidding on one of the many silent auction items including a new 21-speed bike.

Birchcliff Bluffs United Church Springfest

Seasonal inspirations for spring and summer will abound as Birchcliff Bluffs United Church holds its annual Springfest at Kingston Rd. and Warden from 9am – 12:45pm.

Items on sale will include starter plants for the garden, books, DVDs, home-baked goods, gently used clothing and toys.  You can fuel your shopping with breakfast sandwiches and a barbecue lunch.

There will also be a sharpening service for knives, scissors and garden tools. Try your luck at our multi-item draw.  Recycling donations accepted.
