Our Photo of the Day for August 3, 2012 is of our local Sun Valley store — because it’s the last one standing.
Sun Valley is one of the few remaining independent grocery stores in Toronto.
This week, it was announced that Sun Valley’s other location at Pape and Danforth is closing its doors after 29 years in business.
Sun Valley’s customers in Riverdale, who appreciated the store for many reasons including its high quality produce, are pretty disappointed.
Manager Michael Apostolou said: “Support your independents or you’re going to see a lot more of this happening.”
