Meet 48-year old Brian Pearson who supplements his disability insurance by collecting refundable beer and liquor bottles from the blue bins of Birch Cliff.
Brian says he collects bottles three days a week, every other week, and makes about $30 – $40 per day. He also collects in the Beach and the new subdivision west of Victoria Park.
Brian says he’s been unable to hold down a steady job since an industrial accident about ten years ago.
He asked me to pass along thanks to everyone in Birch Cliff who deliberately leave refundable bottles in their bin.
