Flood Coverage, Photo of the Day

Four unsafe sinkholes

We’d like to hear your sinkhole stories!  The Photo of the Day for July 18, 2012 is actually four photos of sinkholes in Birch Cliff.

Three of them, on Crescentwood Road, Kildonan Drive and Haig Avenue were caused by Sunday’s torrential rainstorm that dropped 90 mm of rain on our neighbourhood in a single hour.  The fourth sinkhole, which is the biggest and most dangerous, is also on Haig and has been there for more than six weeks.

We’re working on a story about this and would love to hear your thoughts and comments.  Please scroll down and enter your comments in the box.

Thanks to Penny Harbin and Dennis Harper for drawing our attention to this story.  (editor’s note:  Thanks to Tamara Hermann for the updated Crescentwood photo.  It’s been added to the bottom)
