Pockets of east end flooding

Heavy rainfall has caused some flooding in parts of Toronto including the Woodbine/Kew Beach area in the Beach.

Midland Avenue backyard flooding

You can see a report by CP24’s Cam Wooley here.

There is also some backyard flooding to the east of Birch Cliff in the Midland and St. Clair region, which is where these photos were taken.

If you know of any reports of flooding in the Birch Cliff area, please let us know.

Flooding has been a real source of concern in Birch Cliff since July 15th, when 90 millimetres of rain fell in southwest Scarborough over the course of two hours, flooding hundreds of basements.

If your home has flooded you need to call 311 and report it to the City of Toronto.  Also call your city councillor’s office.

There’s also a Facebook group – Flood July 15 2012 –  that was formed after the flood and they’re on top of the issue.
